Barcelona

Barcelona is a wonderful vibrant city with party people and Gothic architecture. The picture above is from The National Museum of Art of Catalunya. We attended a wedding in a city outside of Barcelona, but we had too many pictures to put the two trips together!

During our visit, Spain played in the semi-finals in the Eurocup. As you can tell, they won! People were out until the wee hours of the morning partying.

La Boqueria Market in the heart of the city, just off of the main street Las Ramblas.

The market had tons of fish, cured meat, juices and olives. Gotta love my husband!

Behind Scott is a monument of Christopher Columbus pointing to the America's.

This is in the Barcelona Gardens just outside the Olympic quarter.

Inside the Barcelona Cathedral.

This is a Roman ruin right outside of the Barcelona Cathedral.

The famous Las Ramblas street. We stayed just to the left of this picture in a great hotel. You never know what your going to get in Europe!

This is the Sagrada Familia. It is a church that has been under construction from 1882, and is expected to be finished in 2030. The architecture in and outside of the building is very Gothic and VERY intricate. Gaudi, the architect, is now passed away, but new architects continue his work.

The Sagrada Familia up close. As you can see, every piece of the church is covered with bible stories.

Stained glass windows in the inside of the Sagrada Familia.

Barcelona beaches were not this beautiful before the Olympics in 1992. People say that the city is much cleaner and nicer due to the Olympics held here.

Of course we had to have seafood Paella and Sangria! It's Barcelona!
